Gianni Matteo is a professional musician based in Las Vegas, NV. With a background deeply rooted in the performing arts, Gianni's journey began in magnet schools dedicated to nurturing young talents. Inspired by exceptional teachers, he found his calling as both a performer and educator.

 

With over a decade of experience, Gianni started his professional performing career in 2012 and began teaching in 2015. His expertise spans a wide range of genres, including pop, musical theatre, classical, jazz, and R&B. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance and Music Education from the University of Nevada Las Vegas, where he was named the college’s first UNLV Idol in 2011. Gianni continues honing his vocal skills under the guidance of renowned vocal instructor Jeffrey Skouson at The Institute for Vocal Advancement. 

 

Throughout his international career, he has performed on some of the world's most prestigious stages for major tours and award shows like The Latin Grammys, The Latin American Music Awards, and the American Country Music Awards, singing backup vocals for international pop icons including Bad Bunny, Carrie Underwood, Chrissy Metz, Hugh Jackman, Brandon Flowers, and Prince Royce. In addition to his notable collaborations, Gianni has achieved personal milestones in his musical journey after independently producing and engineering his original debut single, "Boo Hoo," showcasing his versatility as an artist and his prowess in music production.

 

Gianni's captivating performances can be enjoyed on The Las Vegas Strip at The Venetian's Streetmosphere show in St. Mark's Square of The Grand Canal Shoppes, where he showcases his talents as a singer, pianist and arranger. Notably, Gianni has served as a music director for esteemed local theatre productions such as Into The Woods, Carrie The Musical, The Little Mermaid, and Hedwig and The Angry Inch. In addition to his directing roles, Gianni performed in the band for Carrie The Musical and Hedwig and The Angry Inch on both keyboard and guitar, further demonstrating his wide-ranging talents.

 

When he isn’t performing or producing music, Gianni prides himself on being a dedicated music educator. He teaches a wide range of subjects, including public school general music, as well as private voice, piano, and music production. His teaching philosophy centers on the transformative power of music, aiming to help students harness that power to make a positive impact on the world. He strives to cultivate a space where students feel safe to explore, experiment, and learn from their mistakes without self-judgment.
